Birla Global University, Bhubaneswar commenced its Fourth Batch of PhD. Programme on 12 January 2020 on online mode. Eighteen students from various backgrounds joined the Programme under the Birla School of Management & Birla School of Social Sciences & Humanities.
Renowned academician Prof Damodar Suar, IIT, Kharagpur addressing the new entrants emphasized on the systematic investigation of a phenomenon and adopt a two-thronged approach to research. He said that a researcher can be a catalyst for the changes in society.
Prof. P.P Mathur, the Vice-Chancellor of BGU highlighted the importance of originality in research leading to quality publications. He also pointed out the ethical consideration in research, as highlighted in the New Education Policy, 2020.
Prof. B.K Das, the Registrar of the university stressed upon the need for research both in the field of academics and industry.
Prof. P Nayak, Dean Birla School of Management & Birla School of Social Sciences & Humanities welcomed the newly admitted batch & encouraged the students to be disciplined and motivated enough to bring about the rigour, required for the study.
Dr Manas Kumar Pal, the Coordinator of the PhD. programme proposed a vote of thanks to all dignitaries, the new batch, the faculty and all present & wished everyone a happy & a fruitful year 2021.
