Birla Global University Organized Webinar on Internal Quality Assurance in Higher Education

Bhubaneswar: Birla Global University Bhubaneswar in collaboration with Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi organized a webinar on “Internal Quality Assurance in Higher Educational Institution in the context of National education Policy 2020” on 6th April 2021.

Dr. (Ms) Pankaj Mittal, Secretary General, Association of Indian Universities (AIU) graced the webinar as Chief Guest and Dr. Ganesh A. Hegde, Advisor NAAC as the guest of honour.

Speaking on the National Education Policy, Dr. Mittal emphasized that a teacher must be at the center of the fundamental reforms in the education system in India. She stressed on multidisciplinary and holistic approach in education across the sciences, social sciences, arts, humanities, and sports to ensure the unity and integrity of all knowledge. The new education policy will also provide an access to quality education to all students, irrespective of their social status, location, which envisions an education system rooted in Indian ethos that contributes directly to transforming India, she added.

Dr. Hegde in his address mentioned about the relevance of accreditation of Universities for ensuring dissemination of quality education among the students. To promote quality education, every educational institution must constitute an internal quality assurance cell and ensure transparency in the system. Speaking on the role NAAC in the context of Indian higher Education, he emphasized that all the stake holders ranging from the top to bottom of the Institution must try to explore and implement some best practices at their level for the benefit of society at large.

In his address Prof.(Dr) P. P. Mathur, Honorable Vice Chancellor , BGU, laid emphasis on bringing the research output of faculties to the class room and develop an ecosystem of integrated learning.

Highlighting the importance of quality higher education, Prof (Dr) B. K. Das, Registrar, BGU said NEP will instill skills in students for personal accomplishments and enlightenment in achieving economic independence. The webinar was coordinated by Dr. Ajitabh Dash, Dr. Archana Chaudhary and Dr. Gyanaranjan Mishra.Prof. Punyashloka Das offered a formal vote of thanks to all the dignitaries. More than 200 participants attended the webinar.
